What we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a motivated Truss Designer who will be responsible for evaluating and creating designs pertaining to roof and floor trusses utilizing technical software to meet the needs of the customer or contractor at our Jacksonville location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate roof/ floor design systems based on factors such as design-function relationships, materials and methods of engineering, application, methods of production, and customer or contractor specifications.
  • Presents design to assigned salesperson and/or the customer and discuss need for modification and change.
  • Prepares plan drawings for the salesperson and/or the customer.
  • Upon design approval, presents final drawings and specifications to manufacturing for production of roof/floor trusses
  • Coordinates any follow-up activities with salesperson or the customer / contractor and corrects problems as they arise.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledgeable in the basic aspects of construction
  • Previous experience in truss & engineered wood product software
  • Competency in basic mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry
  • Knowledgeable in reading architectural & structural plans
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous organizational
  • Able to effectively multitask
  • Superb time management skills
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning and judgment as to quickly resolve customer service issues
  • Detail-oriented
  • Two to Three years’ experience in the customer service industry

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17/hr and up

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Education:

  • Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred, but not a requirement.
